Working with a radar sensor usually begins with an obstacle that has nothing to do with radar: installing something. Drivers, a Python environment, a platform-specific build. In a classroom or a workshop, that barrier often decides whether the sensing happens at all, before anyone has seen a signal.
radar-js moves that work into the browser. It connects to a 60 GHz radar sensor over the Web Serial API and streams data in real time, with no drivers and no local installation, on macOS, Windows, and anywhere else a supported browser runs. The model is bci.js, which did the same thing for EEG: put the signal somewhere people already are, and starting no longer requires a lab setup.
That matters most for the teaching work. The desktop version of SensDS ships as a signed executable precisely because a tool needing a Python environment is a tool that does not get used in a classroom. Doing the sensing in a browser would remove even that step.
